Singapore River Regetta 2006 - We are in the Semis

1.35:11, that was what was being reflected in the makeshift scoreboard at the regatta race, it was a moment of mix feelings for most of us in the team..... guess what..... we have managed to qualify for the semi -finals....and the paddle club really gave us a run for our money... Phew....

The team managed to finish 2nd in our heat, (no big deal right?) but to each and everyone of us, it is a real big deal..... that is ultimately our goal for the River Regatta this year - To qualify for the semi-finals in the Inter Business & Clubs Category and we are all coming back tomorrow(Sunday)..... yippy.....


Well, I guess, the above is the only good thing that happened to us on Saturday. Guess what , before the race, our coach was yelling and scolding us for not listening to her instructions, when we are at the start of the race..... choppy water, dragon boat floating everywhere, nervous faces and not forgetting all the "languages" hurling from the end of the dragonboat... hehehe..... Most of us were pretty stunned by coach's reactions..... I think the scolding did us good, we are so hyped up (I am) that we managed a good timing and also with the help of the choppy water la..... =)









Count us unlucky ??? after the race, "You guys cheated, you guys started earlier", this statement just flashed across and most of us were thinking who was that shouting ........ well its towards Lane 3 right at our faces.... a coxswain from another boat told us that we have started early than them, but I am sure that we started the same time with Boat 1 and 2....(How are you going to be so accurate when the currents are strong and the raining is pouring???) and she was like so over the top....... hack with that crazy woman.....

All of us ended the day in a tiring yet happy mood, REASON ?? well its the first time with are in the competition and we have only trained together for less than 3 months before we embark on this uphill task that I didn't even know that we can achieved (That is to qualify for the semis) but we did....

I am very happy and definitely proud of my teammates for making this happened..... those that did not row thanks for being there supporting us....

A special congratulation to one of our teammate that came in first in the Inter Corporate category... Well done and thanks for the constant encouragement....
