Don't be surpirsed that sometimes you can learn about marine life and fishes from dragon boat rowing!
During last sunday training at Kallang River, while we have just finished a set of our 6mins, something popped up from the water surface and jumped into the boat, causing a shock to Nam Khim (being the first left pacer). Turns out to be a small fish (looks like those pomfret that people like to make steam fish). And it hopped and hopped gasping for air... We quickly look for the bailer, and scooped the poor fish, throw it back into the river...
Coach Lele's explanation is that the water could be lacking of oxygen (the water that day was terrible, muddy and yellowish looking); that's why it could have popped up to catch 'air'...
So much for this unique episode... Maybe we could be more excited if a 'merman' popped into our boat...
in this case, we will keep the 'merman' and forget all about training. haha..
