Time to make it count!!

What a weekend it was! we just took part in the 5men/women race and it was a definite eye opener! Firstly, kudos to the team as we managed to send 4 teams this year compared to 1 last year!! Time to step up and bring the team together!

To my men, it was tough and we learnt we have lots of catching up to do!

To my women, I am so proud of you! you kept your heads together and got into the semis!

Guys, time to follow the gals's lead and encourage each other for a better performance at the regatta - bring it on!

1 Year Anniversary of Rowing

This will be a little personal sharing of how i joined the team in rowing, which started last year 12th Sep 2009. I can remember that it was a saturday, which means it is the start of 'Double-Training' for regatta. I can still remember the first 2 people that i met was Thomas and Roger, and that was how i got in to meet the other rowers. The rowing technique is different from the other coaches that i have experienced with. I am also glad that i can still catch up with the training, except for certain land training which somehow give a strain to my knees and lower back. Rowing with FUN DB also allow me to learn a few things (not related with dragon boat rowing), especially from Coach Lele who will sometimes share about certain life experiences, or anything under the sun... I must admit its not easy rowing in dragon boat... There were times that i have also experienced frustrations and disappointment. But i have also experienced 'glory' and excitement with the team. We were just so close to marking a glorious achievement.

And 1 year later for 12th Sep 2010; as i see the current team, it has grown in 'size'. Looking at the newbies coming for orientation and seeing them do the circuits training, i can't help thinking that i also used to be like them a year ago. I certainly hope that they will stay long in the team, and enjoy as much as i like about dragon boat rowing.
