Sundown Marathon + Water Training

Monday Blues!

Hope that today won't be a MONDAY blues for all who are studying, working or serving your national service!

Some notes from our dear Captain Ivan:

"Hope everyone is having a good start to the week and recovering from yesterday's training - i heard it was pretty intense with multiple sets of 2km! Good good - do keep up the push!"  Thus make sure we keep pushing no matter how hard the rowing gets!


Upcoming plans for the team:

Wednesday (25/05/2011) Land Training 
7 pm Queenstown Stadium (rain or shine) 
Come JOIN us as it really helps with stamina training!


Saturday (28/05/2011) Water Training 
9.30 am Bedok Reservoir  
(please be there early as we need to fill up forms, warm up and collect the boat)
There is no land training so no shoes required. 

Sunday (29/05/2011) Water Training 
1.30 pm Kallang SDBA

800m race - 9/10th July
Racers who have have gave confirmation, let's give in our best in all the trainings and most importantly the RACE!

Time Trial (For Racers and Non Racers)

Even those not rowing, do take part as you can use this as a gauge of your ability for benchmarking to see your improvement over the months of training.

Rowers will notice that training sessions will begin to ramp up as the race gets closer so please do keep your focus and test your limits so that on the race day itself our performance is at its peak - each training session is precious so please do attend

Please kindly abstain from alcohol and late nights before every training so that you have the best physical conditions for the sessions.

Hydrate Yourselves



Hey team!
The weather is horrendously warm these days, please remember to hydrate yourselves tonight and the night after to prepare yourselves for the gruesome trainings that our coach had lined up for us! For those who is participating in the 100Plus PAssion Run 2011 tomorrow, all the best for your run and remember to rest well and drink well tonight!

Hope to see all at the training on Saturday 9.30am and Sunday 1.30pm!

Land Training for Today 18 May 2011

Though the stadium is used for soccer match, we still had a great training session with long jog, sprints and static exercises. Some of the team mates had reflected that we should have a backup plan in the event that the stadium is used for soccer matches. Thus out of curiousity and being a kind soul, I went to the S League website to check on the next affected date. I am lucky to say that there is only another fixture which will be happening on Wednesday for the rest of the year

6 July 2011 Etoile FC vs Home United

I think that the Captain will have ample time to come out with an excellent backup plan for the team's land training on this very date!

Hope everyone had a good dinner and chit chat session at the ABC market and rest well for the next working day except for Keith who is on OFF tomorrow.. haha can sleep in till late. For those who didn't turn up for today's land training, please please please come for the next session as it really helps in your endurance and stamina building and is a plus point added to your fitness level.

Trainings Schedule for this week

Wednesday Training - 7pm Queenstown Stadium (rain / shine)

Wed land training is still on, please do come on Wed. If there is rain we will still do some static exercises under the shelter. I would like to encourage all to come - this is really good training to get into condition for the upcoming races!!

Saturday Training - Bedok Reservoir 21st May
10 - 12 am (please aim to be there by 930 as we need to fill up forms, warm up, collect the boat)
There is no land training so no shoes required.
Fees for sat will be kept and split separately amount those who attend the sessions

Sunday Training - Kallang SDBA 22nd May
1.45 - 5pm (please aim to be there by 130pm for warm ups)
There is land training so shoes and socks are required.
